The Sankranthi blockbuster Sankranthiki Vasthunam continuing its good run at the box office. It crossed 200 Cr worldwide gross on its 13th day of the release and became 1st film in Venkatesh's career to achieve this feat. As of 26th Jan, it crossed a major milestone of 30 Cr share (excluding GST) at the Nizam box office. Not only crossing 30 Cr, it also surpassed the highest Nizam share collections of Chiranjeevi (Waltair Veerayya), Mahesh Babu (Sarileru Neekevvaru) and Pawan Kalyan (Bheemla Nayak). The festive release proved to be an advantage, drawing large crowds to theaters and making it a must-watch for families. The film's entertainment quotient, coupled with blockbuster soundtrack, has made it a clear winner in this season's box office race.
Sankranthiki Vasthunam is now all set to surpass HanuMan, last year's Sankranthi blockbuster, which collected 32.95 crore in the Nizam region. With consistent footfalls and strong word-of-mouth, the film is already etched its name in the list of all-time regional highest grossers. The next target is Ala Vailunthapurramulo, the only regional blockbuster which is ahead of Sankranthiki Vasthunam. It's tough to guess now but it needs a very good run to cross 2020 Sankranthi blockbuster.
